Day Care Program - School Year Since Falls Church City Public Schools opened its Extended Day Care Program in 1975, our mission is to provide a safe, fun and nurturing environment for children and their families. Our staff work to meet the needs of all children while encouraging them to explore, create and grow. Our goal is to provide a kind and caring environment in which all children are physically and emotionally safe and thriving. Everyone feels valued, respected and connected. A $30 per child registration fee is charged and paid when registration is approved. Day Care Program - Summer The Summer Day Care Program begins on the Monday following the last day of school and concludes one week prior to the start of the next school year. The program operates Monday through Friday, 7:00 a.m. to 6:30 p.m., and is closed on Juneteenth and July 4th holidays. Registration is available on a weekly basis. A minimum of 21 days’ notice is required to cancel any previously registered weeks. Without proper notice, full payment will be due. A list of deadline dates is in the Summer Day Care Family Handbook. Program fees are charged weekly, and payment is due each Friday for the upcoming week of attendance. Children are provided with a morning and afternoon snack daily. Unless otherwise announced, lunch must be brought from home. A $75 registration fee is charged and paid when registration is approved. There is a $50 registration for additional children in the family. A $25 registration fee is charged for families approved for Reduced Fees for the summer program.
